Why the Village of Horseheads does not fill out the long form of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is beyond me. Filling it out allows you to be aware of potential problems and address these issues, applying limitations and guidelines for the longterm protection of our environment. The proposed site is situated where underground effects can go as far as the Chesapeake Bay or north through the Lakes and canals. To me it is derelection of duty to your constituents to pass a project as far reaching as this without taking as many precautions as the law allows. I am not against Schlumberger, just for the protection of our lovely region and our lifestyle in this area. It would seem there is pressure to have the jobs for immediate aid to our area rather than look down the road for the safety of future generations. That is not a wise move.
