We don't see anyone locally that has the ability to write a funny script.
Now Rushville is rich in subject matter for a script that would deflate the massive egos in this town:
The arrogant local politicians.
The really bad appearance of Rushville's houses & buildings.
All the fatties waddling around.
The inbreeding, the high school dropouts, all the alcoholics, heavy smokers, meth labs galore, and dope users.
Welfare abuse, high food stamp use, general laziness.
Yes, there's a lot of subject matter to cull from the local yokels.
