A gunshot victim was hospitalized Wednesday morning after being shot just after midnight in the Holden Heights community, according to Orange County Sheriff's deputies.

Members of the department's fugitive unit were trying to stop a car with two murder suspects when the driver sped up, lost control on a turn, crossed a median and crashed upside down in a canal at Princeton Street and Mercy Drive, police said.
