Hoisington's community garden planted and growing

County burn ban possible

If dry conditions persist, Barton County emergency management officials may ask the County Commission to approve a burn ban come next week, Communications Director Doug Hubbard told commissioners Monday morning.

Rep. Bob Bethell dies in car accident

State Representative Bob Bethell, 69, died in a car accident on Sunday. His vehicle was westbound on I70 at milepost 335.3 when it left the roadway to the right, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol Crash Log.

RSVP selling recycled Memorial Day flowers

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Central Kansas has memorial flowers for sale at the RSVP office, 1025 Main D114, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and at the RSVP Thrift Store in Hoisington, which is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
