Today Duane Earl Edris, 63, of Rogers,Ark., died Friday, July 17, 2009.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 25, at the Central United Methodist Church in Rogers.

In November, Benton County will finish paying off a $1.8 million loan it took out five years ago to purchase 14 new fire trucks for the county's volunteer fire departments.

Since 1995, the RDA, comprised completely of local volunteers, has developed, designed and built two water-supply systems on Beaver Lake, a system in Highfill and a fourth in Hiwasse, and even with the progress that has been made, there is still more work to be done, said Cassie Elliott, a member of the RDA.
