About 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, a driver lost control of her car on a Hillside street and slammed into their home after hitting the gas instead of the brakes, authorities said.

Claude H. Burks, 19, of Newark was arrested on May 3 and charged with burglarizing four Hillside homes over the last couple weeks.

The arrests were made in connection with a house burglary that occurred on Friday, April 27.
