Shafiqul Islam, 21, was taken into custody on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011, after Columbia County sheriff's deputies said they caught him driving a car that was stolen from the home of a Hillsdale woman later found dead.

An 81-year-old man was airlifted to Albany Medical Center for treatment on Monday after his car struck a flatbed as the truck was backing out of a driveway on Route 71, according to police.
