Come Oct. 1, Hill Country Village will be getting its fire protection and EMS services from San Antonio, capping the end of a 10-year contract for similar service with Hollywood Park.

Starting Oct. 1, the San Antonio Fire Department will respond to calls in Hill Country Village, based on an interlocal agreement approved by both cities' councils Thursday.

Building their operational budget for fiscal year 2012, Hill Country Village officials project little change in sales tax income with further discussions to come on employee health benefits, and contracts for garbage disposal and fire service.
