Closing schools not answer to budget woes
The closing of the High Rolls Mountain Park Elementary and Holloman Middle School and transporting those students elsewhere is a totally unacceptable solution of the Alamogordo Public School's budget problem.
Parents ponder possible closures
Concerned parents whose children attend Holloman Middle School and High Rolls Elementary will conduct two separate meetings next week to discuss the possible closure of the respective schools.
Visitors can look forward to sweet cherry-filled fun and festivities at the 44th annual Cherry Festival this weekend in High Rolls.
Group plans 100 miles of trails
The Mexican Canyon Trestle can be viewed from U.S. Highway 82. New Mexico Rails-to-Trails Association is working to refurbish the trestle as part of the Sacramento Mountains trails system.
