Police were dispatched to a motorcycle accident at the intersection of 9th Street and Adams Street in Herrin on Sunday at around 8:40 p.m. The investigation shows that 39-year-old Richard Keeling of Herrin lost control of his motorcycle and struck a parked SUV.

The U.S. Attorney Stephen R. Wigginton of the Southern District of Illinois announced Friday that a Herrin man was sentenced for wire fraud.

Police say the man who robbed Jumpin' Jimmies fled on foot, and is considered "armed and dangerous". On Friday, around 8:00 p.m. the Herrin Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at Jumpin' Jimmies convenience store in Herrin.

While it's illegal to jail a person based on their debt in Illinois, creditors seem to have found a way to get it done anyway.
