The Heron Lake Watershed District will host a local conservation tillage tour Wednesday, July 1. District education coordinator Melanie Luinenburg Raine says the tour is the publica s opportunity to see firsthand how local producers make conservation tillage a profitable, workable practice on their farm.

A change to one of the countya s tile systems was approved Tuesday by the Jackson County Board of Commissioners in order for a drained wetland north of Lakefield and east of South Heron Lake to be restored.

On Wednesday, June 10, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., the Heron Lake Watershed District and the Prairie Ecology Bus will be searching for scientists.
