That Mi Pueblo Center sounds great. Interesting how the other retail/grocery center that's booming is the Seafood King Center on Sonoma, which is Filipino/Asian based. Ethnic markets are really untapped and full of profit potential. I'm sure we'll get a lot of comment from the usual racist types denouncing the Mi Pueblo project today.

Definitely good news. It is great to see the progress made on the island tearing down the old naval buildings in preparation for the Town Center.

Guess I got to break the racist line, but when the heck can we get an american food store, something that sells healthy and fresh food?

I'm diggen' on everthing except the Taco Hell and subway. V-town doesn't need any more fast food places. As for Mi Pueblo Center, I'm curious about it. Maybe a book store in the Town Center.

Judy, if this plaza is where I think it is, there is already a Taco Bell there and it is just going to be relocated. Although I agree - we don't need more fast food (unless an In N Out Burger wants to come in, that is!)

okie dokie--Taco Hell can stay. I would like an n-out burger as well. It should be located where that Motel 6 is, across from Popeyes along the Hwy 37 over-ramp. I want a book store on Mare Island or located on the waterfront. I want that empty space (next to the bath boutique) located in the ferry terminal as an art gallery--supporting local artists and/or a wine celler for wine tasting.

Stand by, Judge Judy! The Bay Terrace Community Arts Center will be opening in the near future. Located at Daniels and Wilson, it is the home of the Mira Theatre Guild and will be a gallery and studio spaces within the next year!
Gen Y, the combination of proteins in traditional Mexican cuisine is the perfect vegetarian diet. Beans, rice, corn, and optional small amounts of meat make for healthy individuals. It's when you add white flour, sugar, and especially sodas that people become obese and diabetic.
Vallejo will prevail-o. Weak slogan. Sorry...

Oh Great! Another Subway sandwich shop, nail salon and dry cleaner. Vallejo is truly a city of opportunity.

I agree with Judy as well - a nice wine bar on the other side of the Ferry Building would be a wonderful addition. We need more places like this to slowly start changing the image of the city. Mi Pueblo is also very nice. We shopped at one a few months ago on our way home - it is indeed like a Hispanic Whole Foods.

Why would a "hispanic version of Whole Foods" succeed and not a Whole foods? I would assume the prices are high @ the hispanic version as well, are the prices high I have never seen one or shopped there. Who is their target audience? It is good to see Vallejo doing positive things.

They are courting the population that has taken over. The hispanics have taken over the city in the quickest of any race in Vallejo times. It is good to see Vallejo doing positive things. Because Whole Foods has a formula where they place new stores, which includes average higher education level. That is why Vallejo was not considered the last time for one. This is good news about the 80 Plaza. I lie nearby in the Annex - we need a decent grocery store and dry cleaners in the neighborhood. Subway - not so much
