Air Force to demolish SoCal bunker where teens were murdered

The Air Force is going to demolish a deserted military bunker where two teenagers were murdered.

The Air Force awarded a contract Friday to destroy the World War II-ear bunker near Helendale in Riverside County. The work is expected to cost $500,000 and will be completed by June.

The abandoned bunker was a hangout for youths. Demolishing it became a priority after 18-year-old Christopher Thompson of Apple Valley and 16-year-old Bodhisattva Sherzer-Potter of Helendale were killed there in January. Read more
