Shirl LaBarre of Hayward registered a committee to recall Sen. Bob Jauch, a Poplar Democrat, to punish him for opposing a bill that would have jumpstarted an iron mine south of Ashland.

According to The Bemidji Pioneer , Don Mickel caught and released a 35.1-inch walleye with a 24.25-inch girth April 4 on the Rainy River.
