Flash Flood Warning for Western Fairfax County

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Western Fairfax County effective until 10:30 p.m. At 7:36 p.m. NWS doppler radar indicated thunderstorms capable of producing flash flooding along a line from South Riding to eight miles south of Haymarket, according to an alert from Fairfax County.

Police: Man ambushes, assaults officer in Haymarket

The officer stopped a pickup truck in the area of Old Carolina Road and Piedmont Vista Drive at 11:55 p.m. Seth Jon Paul Slaby "emerged" from the bed of the truck, became disorderly, jumped out and then knocked the responding officer to the ground, Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.
