As school districts around KOTA Territory overhaul their academics in response to low state test scores, one district is taking a proactive approach- not giving its students the option to fail.

Many students used to miss class time by leaving early for sporting events. Now most of those events are scheduled for Friday's, and instructional time in the classrooms is protected.

A KOTA Territory school district that tested near the bottom of the barrel just a few years ago has skyrocketed above state averages.

She started her education in a small Hay Springs school house. Now she is taking over as the President of a college in California.
