Family had asked parole officer to arrest Lawndale man before shootout

i witnessed this whole thing and the officers tried at least 6 times to tell him to not move an put down the weapon. each time he made a move and they shot his LEG. They didn't want/try to kill him even after he shot the officer. They tried to end this relatively peaceful but the suspect wouldn't let them!

His prison record does not include violent offenses, but he was sent to jail in 2002 for possession of a loaded firearm. His rap sheet also includes arrests for battery, auto theft and spousal abuse, authorities said.

O.K. so what is non-violent about spousal abuse and battery? A gang memeber, lil watts? Great job, another POS off the street!

I knew Juan Aguilar before the Dope and gangs, and he was just a normal kid at that time. Its a shame how we can give into the streets, and pay with our own lives and sanity. SAY NO 2 METH!

Is Margarita your name or is that what you are drinking? Given your rants, I would say you have had a few too many.
Look, cousin or not, let's talk about responsibility. It is all on your cousin. He had a lifetime of bad choices, which culminated in him threatening officers with a firearm. Sorry, he loses, game over! If you and his other family members had maybe taken more of a proactive step in trying to get him some help, rather than simply calling parole or police any time he got out of control, maybe it would not have reached this point. However, this is the perfect example that being a drugged up gangster isn't a good way to reach retirement. Glad the officers are safe and although it's unfortunate, the responsibility of this incident lies on your counsin. DAMF!

Glad to see his "memorial" is nearly gone. Nothing but a distance memory. Hopefully, his son will be raised better now. Not sure when gangster thugs, raise gangsta thugs then cry when they get killed, you brought it all on yourself.

Crystal meth changes people. It is the worst drug out there. It is killing our youth. There should be some harder laws against this drug.

This guy deserved what he got, and those of you defending him are the same type of people that defends gang bangers and always blaming police officers for doing their job. It's ridicules and people like you make me sick. I bet the first people you call when there is a burglary are the same police officers you are blaming. This tragedy is about one thing - drug addiction. Juan did seek an education. He was the most enthusiastic and wonderfully curious student in my composition course about two years ago. I simply adored Juan, as did every other member of the class. He showed up to class every week totally prepared and dedicated to the task of mastering grammar. He was just beginning his welding career and he was so proud to be earning so many kudos at work. There was no trace of gang or drug behavior in his demeanor, and he was on the right path. He passed the course and even stopped by the following semester to talk and share his bright smile. My condolences to Juan's family. He was a wonderful person.

Really Daily Breeze? It's nice to know Battery & Spousal Abuse aren't known as Violent Offense. I bet his "Spouse" and the person he "battered" would beg to differ that these aren't "violent".

So would it be fair to say if a cop points a gun at you, you should blow his head off? Cops shoot to kill....and its wrong. No ifs, ands or buts about it. This was murder.
