Hastings fretting dial-a-ride changes

As a car-less senior, Byrl Wessinger has two ways to get around Hastings. The first is her daughter, and the second is the Hastings TRAC, a door-to-door bus service she schedules to get to appointments at Regina Medical Center, at the edge of the city limits.

Not surprising. What would anyone expect. This is the Twin Cities. Transit here sucks anyways. Always has, always probably will. People who can't drive living in Hastings?!?! What are you thinking? I can't drive, I live in St. Paul, and getting around on transit still stinks. That's the U.S. for ya. Everyone worshiping the all-mighty automobile. Why didn't Jerklenty just let the Transit Nazi gut the entire transit system here a few years back. It sucks so bad anyway. My advice to any non-drivers in the twin cities is to move far away from this sprawled out pathetic excuse for a "city".

I moved to hastings because there was no bus from the city centers, why would anyone want to invite the problem people that come with a bus connection with the urban centers? Plus its entertaining to watch the geniuses just released from jail try to figure out how to get home without the bus.

They have to take away the bus because people actually use it and there is not enough muggings and violence on them, unlike downtown St. Paul, buses every where and mostly empty, and most of them you wouldn't want to ride on with the people who are on them.

I am really hurt by the fact that some people think those of us who are disabled and really need transportation help are considered "problem People". Why shouldn't we live where we want? Some of us are considered very intellectual and have had extensive educations and wonderful careers before they for whatever reason became disabled.
God forbid it should happen to you and you must learn to live again and humbly ask for help. Changes to the transit system can be both good and bad. Let's see the plan before we judge.
