A Millville man was killed when his car slammed into a parked car and rolled onto its roof along Millville Road in Bloomsburg, Columbia County around six last night.

Allison R. Vonneida, 21, of Hartleton, was pronounced dead at the scene by Union County Coroner Wanda Walters following the 2:15 a.m. accident Saturday on Route 235 near Palmen Road in Hartley Township.

Fire ripped through a house in Union County on Tuesday. Jay Uncapher lived in the two-story house near Mifflinburg with his father, mother and brother.

Nettie Schlegel only wanted to see her old front porch get a shiny new coat of paint, but by noon Thursday, the joists and the floorboards were gone, making way for a new porch entirely.

State Sen. Jake Corman, a Republican whose 34th District includes a portion of Union County, announced Sunday that he would seek re-election. "I am pleased to announce today that I am seeking re-election to continue representing residents of the 34th District in the Pennsylvania State Senate," Corman said.
