Missouri Supreme Court upholds $500K verdict against auto dealer Franklin

A jury had ordered Franklin, as an individual, to pay $1 million on top of $4,500 in actual damages after a 2010 trial, but Clay County Circuit Judge Anthony Gabbert ruled that state law limits punitive damages to $500,000 for claims brought under the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act.
