Work to replace a structurally deficient bridge near North Fork began recently, with clearing and grubbing and other pre-construction activities.

Christopher Mortimer, 38, of Twin Oaks, Pa., died after the truck he was driving swerved back and forth in the westbound lanes near Harrison Township in Bedford County, striking two cement barriers.
