Officials: Slain inmate felt threatened but didn't seek help

In the month leading up to his death at North Branch Correctional Institution, Clarence Meyers wrote letters indicating he felt threatened at the state prison, an attorney in the case said Tuesday, but a correctional system spokesman said if Meyers felt threatened, the inmate did not take steps to ensure his safety.

Westbound I-70 near Hancock reopened
