A Marion County man who confessed to sexually abusing two different girls nearly 20 years ago and a Red Bay man accused of trying to kill his live-in girlfriend in February of 2010 pleaded guilty before their cases were set to go to trial this past week, officials said.

A Winston County man accused of having sex with a minor, and his wife, who is accused of knowing about the abuse but doing nothing to stop it, were indicted by the January grand jury on sexually-related charges, officials said.

A couple from Haleyville are facing serious charges after the Franklin County Grand Jury returned indictments against them.

For the last week, students at Curry High School have churned out dozens of wooden plaques etched with insignias like Alabama's Crimson Tide and Curry High's crest.
