Starting Monday, king salmon will be off limits in the Gulkana River. Citing the lowest count of king salmon in the river since biologists started counting fish seven years ago, the Department of Fish and Game this week issued an emergency order closing the Gulkana River to all king salmon fishing - even catch and release - starting on Monday.
