Glenna Lingafelt said she is not running for re-election this year. She has served on Gretna Town Council since 1994 and has been mayor since 1998.

"I wanted to have this parade for the last two years," said Hal Shoemaker, with the Merchants Association of Gretna, which is sponsoring the event with help from the town of Gretna.
