A pair of houses on Route 26 were destroyed by fire early Tuesday, Nov. 16. Here firefighters from Woodstock and surrounding communities work to contain the blaze, which appears to have started in one home and spread to the neighboring building.

Oxford home damaged by fire

A late morning fire engulfed a couple's mobile home on Tuesday. Firefighters were called to 158 Mechanic Falls Road at about 11:15 a.m. Captain Shawn Cordwell of the Oxford Fire Department said the rear of the building was burning with heavy smoke when responders arrived.
