Money for Wichita projects, such as aviation and doctor training, were not included in a budget proposal approved Friday by a Senate committee.
But lawmakers say there is no need to panic.
'Everything is still on the table for all the issues,' said Sen. Jean Schodorf, R-Wichita, who sits on the Senate Ways and Means Committee.
In their version of the budget, senators set aside $2.5 million for an aviation training center in Wichita and $1 million for the Wichita Center for Graduate Medical Education for discussions later in the process, she said. Read more
