'Tea Party' Group Rallies With Signs, Speeches

Full story: Greeneville Sun

The tea party folks want to rail against federal spending. They can begin by refusing to accept social security, medicare, unemployment, disability, etc. They should not get a swine flu shot. All of these things are provided at least in part by the federal government. Also, while we all wish to thank our veterans, DOD costs have spiraled since Bush engaged the US in 2 wars with no end in sight for either one. The tea party folks who rail against federal spending should educate themselves about where the federal funds are actually spent! A little sacrifice and less railing would go a long way.

No, we actually want to rail against total government control of our lives and the dismantling of the Constitution...

Interesting spelling for your name. Do you honestly believe that the people railing against the government have ever read the Constitution? Seriously, do you think the government is trying to control everyone's lives by providing health care to all? I fail to understand how it is wonderful for the government to provide Medicare to those 65 and over but neglect those under that age who have dire medical situations. I heard a tea party woman say that she wants the government out of her Medicare. I guess the point I am trying to make is that many Americans no longer think for themselves. They adopt the 30-second sound byte fed to them by the politicians who don't really have the best interest of their constituents at heart. Big business rules under the sham of protecting Constitutional freedoms. Sorry if I sound cynical but I know too many poor people from East Tennessee who are suffering but continue to chow down on the garbage fed to them by their elected officials. I guess these poor folks are getting what they deserve and I should just shut up!

The spelling of my name was a pure typo.. don't read too much into it. Yes, I do think that by the government providing health care to everyone, it just gives them one more piece of control over us. Yes I do.
