establishments like that. From what is posted on here and what is in the paper, I don't know why anyone would want to frequent these places. I would
about bet if our policemen would spend some time at
the "bars" around here, that several arrests would be made. If someone staggers out the door, they are probably not safe behind the wheel ! It's a shame innocent people have to be injured or "murdered" because of these people's ignorance. I agree that speeders need to be accountable for their transgressions, but you see a whole lot more entries into "It Happened Here" for speeding than you do for DUI or public intoxication ! I don't understand why politicians spend so much time and taxpayers money to stop folks from smoking, and all but ignore the drinking and driving problems. I have never heard of a family being killed by someone with an open container of cigarettes in the vehicle.

I've never understood why cops don't park down the road from this place and just catch people as they pull out. They don't go there for anything more than to drink.

Last I checked...they do park down the road and catch drunk drivers. Just like they do at applebees and hyperion. I just love how people like you comment on subjects you know nothing about.

Apparently I didn't make my point clear enough. They could pull over EVERY car that leaves there. At applebee's and the Hyperion people go there to eat and some to drink, but at the Hideaway it's just to drink. I assume you're one of the inbreds I'm referring to.

Nope. I've never been in the place nor do i drink. You called that one way wrong. However I've known Donnie Shelton since I was a kid and I like him. It is amazing to me that people like you will condemn a local business but say nothing about places like applebees where the same things go on. I've seen arguments and fights break out at the bar in applebees. Since the cops can't tell who's been drinking at applebees they should check everyone who comes out the door there too, right? You are nothing more than a typical busy body hypocrite. Get a life and quit trying to tell everyone else how to live theirs!

FYI, volfans the police do have a presence in all the establishments that serve alcohol. More of a presence than you can possibly know. Further, I know of no bar owner that will knowingly let a drunk person get out the door. Ever hear of vehicular homicide? That's the risk of letting a drunk leave. The liability of that is too high and no bar owner or server wants that. There are people who can fool you about their intoxication levels but that is part of it. To completely put an end to drunk driving you would have to bring back prohibition as I was pointing out in the previous post.

Seems like you know an awful lot about donnie. How do you know if he takes keys or not? Is this a place you frequent or have frequented in the past?

Better yet did you get a DUI leaving there? Someone close to you have something happen leaving there? Look I know a person who got a DUI leaving applebees. I don't blame applebees for it. I blame him for being stupid enough to drive after drinking too much.

I bet ya mmm is one of those people who buys booze in another county so no one knows they drink so they then can try to judge other's. Donnie is a good guy who has a bar that's no reason to call him a scumbag.

I say bring back prohibition then ! I wonder what the maximum capacity of patrons at Hyperion and Applebees is ? They both have got to be exceeding the Fire Marshall code. If you have to park in the grass and almost on the Bypass at Applebees, then there are probably no seats available. And Heaven forbid if a family with young children wants to eat there on a Friday or Saturday night !
The media puts enough CRAP in kid's heads (it's cool to drink or hook up for a one night stand). It's a shame families with morals can't go somewhere like that without feeling uncomfortable. My money is just as good as the drunk's money. In the long run, mine will probably last longer !

Plenty of restaurants that don't serve alcohol. Why don't you go there? I don't drink for personal reasons but I enjoy having lunch at hyperion. Since they don't let kids in there's no chance of having to listen to people's screaming brats through my meal! Now there is some needed legislation! Force parents to make their kids behave in public!

ps. Volsfan, there are plenty of kid friendly restaurants out there. Try McDonalds if you don't like the atmosphere at applebees! You've touched on a hot button of mine, "people who think they are entitled to boss the rest of the world because they have kids!" Get a life please!

I am SO glad to be on your "hot button" !! I'm not bossing the rest of the world around just because I have kids, but my family - including my non-screaming, non-bratty teenage children, who have won numerous academic and athletic awards, deserve to be able to eat at places that don't serve their food in a wrapper !! Just because we have morals doesn't mean we should be looked down upon !! I think you and "Watchdog" are probably the same person. There is no way that much rage, hatred and negativity could be contained in just one person ! It must take both of your egos to let it all out ! And, by the way, I DO have a life that I very much enjoy because of my family. Do you even have a family or did you run them off with your sweet disposition ? YOU need to get a life !!
