Steve Sharel of Arlington Heights marches with the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 311 at the Memorial Day parade in Monday in Arlington Heights.

Events kick off at noon with a 5K run and walk, following by a parade at 1:00, which kicks off at the intersection of Harper and Little Mack avenues.

The ceremony will take place at the park's baseball diamond, 49 Oxford Drive , and include an honor guard with the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District, the Lincolnshire Police Explorers, and local Cub and Boy Scouts participating, Public Works Department Secretary Kimberly Jurco said.
