Who cares about some ranking? Unless you're already wired in to a job, that degree plus a dollar will get you a cup of coffee at McDonald's.

U.S. News and World Report's rankings are the only ones any one cares about.

This 'national publication' was not mentioned in the headline nor the lead in sentence because know one has heard of the "Washington Monthly".

Basically the magazine took the 258 lower ranking schools from U.S. News and World Report and reranked the bottom of the barrel based on some odd criteria: Community service by students? Would those numbers at the university have anything to do with number of students with a criminal background who are forced to do volunteer work by the courts and have been guided into the university as part of a program to get them on a career path other than one of the criminal variety?

"This ranking highlights the superior job done by our faculty, students and staff," Cruzado said.
She must have a very limited contact with the few who are commited to education. Maybe it is time to wipe the sleep out of your eyes?

They ranked Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi (the arm pit of the USA) as number 22. That speaks volumes. Kent State 164. Lehigh 166. Southern Methodist 183. I guess a bunch of administrators will be on their way to Jackson to emulate that stupendous institution (not).
