Parents Charged In Childs Battery
A 7-month-old is still hospitalized after allegedly suffering broken ribs and internal injuries at the hands of his parents. The Madison County State's Attorney's Office has charged 20-year-old Kamryn N. Kerr and 18-year-old Ashlee N. Wethington, both of the 4,000 block of Braden Street in Granite City, with Aggravated Battery to a Child and Endangering the Life or Health of a Child.

Police cleared in 2 Granite City shootings
A grand jury in southwestern Illinois' Madison County has deemed justified two Granite City police shootings, including one that killed a man. The county's state's attorney, Tom Gibbons, says one case involved two officers fatally shooting 45-year-old Stephen Minch of St. Charles in July after Minch allegedly pointed a gun at the officers and refused to put it down.

Grand Jury Rules Officers Actions Justified
The use of force by three Granite City Police Officers has been ruled justified by a grand jury according to Madison County State's Attorney Tom Gibbons. Gibbons announced the verdicts Friday in the cases regarding a pair of officer involved shootings that occurred earlier this year.

Explosion at scrap metal plant kills two
Two people were killed and one was injured in an explosion at a metal recycling plant in Granite City, Illinois, on Aug. 25. According to multiple sources the explosion at the facility, which is near St. Louis, was caused by a mortar round that was being scrapped at the yard.
