Wolf Killings Being Investigated in Three States

The federal government is investigating the killing of sixteen wolves in three states, including Minnesota. The killings took place in November and December. Two wolves were killed in Minnesota. Eight were killed in Wisconsin and six in Michigan. The investigation is being overseen by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The federal agency says an increase in illegal killings in the fall in not unusual. One dead wolvf in Minnesota were found near Ball Club, outside of Grand Rapids, and the other was found northwest of Two Harbors. Some of the wolves killed in Wisconsin were in Douglas, Bayfield, Burnett and Ashland counties.

The Michigan wolves were found in the U.P. and all were wearing tracking collars. The wolf found near Two Harbors also had a tracking collar. In Wisconsin, eight wolves were killed in late fall in Burnett, Douglas, Bayfield, and Ashland counties. Wolves in Wisconsin and Michigan are considered endangered. In Minnesota they are considered threatened.

The federal government has been moving toward easing protection of the wolf population, saying the animal levels are healthy. There has been court action to block the government's efforts.

Members, the ELCA has left us

The leadership of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) turned its back on members of ELCA churches and threatens the very existence of the church by allowing non-celibate pastors in homosexual relationships to be ordained into the ELCA. The ELCA has acted contrary to “the inspired Word of God – the authoritative source and norm of---- proclamation, faith and life.”(ELCA Constitution Section 2.03)

Most members were caught offguard when just a few hundred people at the ELCA Churchwide Assembly in Minneapolis made this decision last August.
