Calls started pouring in to emergency dispatchers Tuesday afternoon from the Gorham area when residents spotted what they thought might be funnel clouds and perhaps even a wall cloud -- a harbinger of severe weather.

One could call it a little house on the prairie. Rising from a barren swatch of the Kansas plains on the edge of a field of milo stubble, the century-old barn stands as a testament to a different time.
