On November 4, 2009, at about 5:05 p.m., the Curry County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from two Gold Beach residents reporting that while out picking mushrooms near Edson Creek Road and Old Coast Highway just north of Gold Beach, they found what they believed were the remains of a human being in a forested area.
