The governments around here close their doors a lot

At the start of its Jan. 2 meeting, the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors placed on its agenda a closed session.

This is a prime example of Ross Kearney's honest and open government. His practices as mayor have been far worse than those practiced by mayors in the past. He has reopened the ole boy, behind closed door polotics that he promised to put to an end. This is exactly why Hampton needs to retire this power hungry, micro-managing monger. His tax and spend policies, his pet project, and his behind closed doors dishonesty all need to go away. Do not vote for this man on Tuesday because he is bad for the City.

No city in the region has a worse record aout the number, times and subjects that they close the door on, than Suffolk. Our "Mayor on a mission" Linda Johnson and company has refined to a new art, the closed door need. Every meeting, sometimes twice a meeting they go behind closed doors to conduct our business. If you check the records/archive you will find that almost all of their meetings have a closed session prior to or after the meeting or both...

Even though there have been commitments made by Johnson that "The City will conduct it's business in an open manner for all to see..." It jsut has not been so... The Duma in Russia holds more open meetings than the Suffolk City Council...

adding this to the gloucester forum.

wonder why they close the doors more often?
news coverage a little negatively biased?

i'd bet if the media were less 'biased' that
the doors would open a lot more.

CYM: It is Meghan who I would listen to before the media. She just happens to be one of my mentors on Public Policy.

Better to get it from reliable sources, yes?
Outlining Protocal of what the public may NOT be privy to. Meghan works for the people.( openly)

The negative vibes are reality in writing.
However, it gives people the opportunity to see stuff happens all over. Get qualified people to do these jobs. I know there has to be someone out there that can stand the heat and only make $7000

You ARE kidding right?
Please say you are kidding.
You CAN'T be serious.

So it's the media's fault? How about a little cheese with your whine!

Now Theresa Altemus is the Daily Press's fault. Now I've heard it all. If Gloucester paid attention to who it put in office ...

I wonder if they will ever get real leadership/management in the Assessor's office.

A process is taking place now to investigate the goings on with the BOS.
The Daily Press just reports the news, however, I wish they COULD be a bit more unbiased.
But, I agree with you regardless.

If you are interested in how a person CAN get it done go to: http://www.depotdazed.com

If this gal has the guts to do what she did, that is SO HELPFUL to all concerned citizens so should you!
Carol Lindstrom, a little old lady was sick and tired of her local goverment: She took the gracious way of finding out needful
information for herself and her town.

If you want the article go to http://www. roanoke.com/editorials/wb xp-160632

This is most interesting and useable for everyone.
It is a good read, worth printing out for future use or use it NOW.
