Brookfield Man Sentenced for String of Home Burglaries in DuPage, Cook Counties
A 48-year-old Brookfield man has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for a string of home burglaries that occurred in Cook and DuPage counties, prosecutors said Monday. Paul Major, 48, entered a guilty please Friday for burglarizing a a Glen Ellyn home earlier this year, according to a DuPage County State's Attorney's Office press release.

Glen Ellyn annexes parts of Glen Oak Country Club property
Glen Ellyn has annexed portions of the Glen Oak Country Club's property, giving the club access to the village's Lake Michigan water system and the village access to more tax revenue. An operating agreement approved in July calls for the club to pay the village roughly $45,000 a year in taxes.

Cause of Grandma Sally's fire remains a mystery
The cause of a fire earlier this summer that gutted the popular Grandma Sally's Family Restaurant in Naperville will likely never be known, and Naperville Fire Department officials have closed their investigation into the blaze. "As of right now, unfortunately, we have not been able to come up with a cause" of the July 18 blaze, Fire Marshal Scott Scheller told The Sun on Wednesday.
