Suspicious Hiseville fire under investigation
Another suspicious house fire occurred Wednesday in the Hiseville area. The Barren County Sheriff's Office responded to a house on fire northeast of Glasgow on Center Road at around 4:40 p.m. This is the third suspicious fire that has occurred recently within the Hiseville area, said Sheriff's Chris Eaton.

Minimum Wage Rises on Wednesday

Here in Kentucky, our 70 cent minimum wage increase goes into effect on Wednesday.
That's several weeks ahead of a federal minimum wage increase for the same amount that hits on July 24th.

Motorcyclists Arrested After High Speed Chase
Two motorcyclists are behind bars sfter a high speed chase with Kentucky State Police that ended with one man wrecking his bike.
KSP observed the two drivers speeding northbound on the William Natcher Parkway at approximately 130 miles an hour.
A trooper merged onto the Natcher ahead of the two motorcycles and attempted to slow them down.
19-year-old Kenneth Krawiec was boxed in and forced to stop
22-year-old Adam Bladassarre, sped up and passed the troopers creating a chase spanning 23 miles.
Bladassarre lost control of his motorcycle and crashed at Exit 27 on the parkway.
He was taken to the Medical Center, treated and released.
Both subjects were arrested on numerous offenses and lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.

Barren County Sheriff’s Deputy Joseph D. Walden was presented a Purple Heart and the Medal of Valor from Glasgow Mayor Darrell Pickett in council chambers at city hall Monday morning. Walden was wounded during a shooting incident at a residence on McKenna Street on June 20, 2007, in which two people died. He was an officer with the Glasgow Police Department at that time. Jailer admits actions on police tape
Leland Cox has stated since being accused of sexual abuse that the acts were consensual, but that he knew his actions had been morally wrong.
Yet in a 37-minute interview with Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement/Special Investiga-tions detectives on July 24, 2008, Cox said that while at the time he thought the acts were consensual looking back he could understand why the women involved did not.
