House Finance Chairman Harry Keith White, D-Mingo, announced his candidacy for House of Delegates speaker on Monday.

According to criminal complaints acquired from Mingo County Magistrate Court, DUI related arrests have been on the rise lately in Mingo County, which proves that law enforcement agencies are cracking down on those that are caught operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol/and or drugs.

Nearly every seat was taken at the Logan County Commission office for a Town Hall Meeting featuring U.S. Senator Joe Manchin, who had been traveling through southern West Virginia over the past week.

The ladies auxiliary of the Mingo County Sheriff's Department , the "Shielded Hearts", which is made up of spouses, mothers and significant others of the deputies are selling items to raise funding for the Sheriff Eugene Crum Memorial Fund.
