We really need the temples!!!! Thank you everyone who went to the Snowflake and the Mesa Temple, but all of our active members are now rewarded with TWO NEW TEMPLES!!!!!:) That is one major blessing for all of us. Thank you to the Leisure family in the Highland Stake who donated the land for the Gilbert Temple!!!

That filth has NO place in this community. It's a blemish on the valley and the state as a whole. The use of these Temples is of a nature that is considered occult by most, and is a dirty reminder of the scum that inhabit this area.

Remember, Asgarnieu, that when YOU point your finger that you have 3 pointing back at yourself. Remember that temples are sacred and SCUM is prohibited from entering therein.

Sacred to whom? Certainly not me. Mormonism is a complete sham, as is all organized religion. The name is cute, by the way.

Live and let die, both physical, and spiritual. We will sorted and cast into the fires according to our works, not just by our faith or method(s) of worship.

we will receive rewards or suffer loss if we are in Christ.......it all depends on our heart attitude in our works.......... salvation is a given if we accept Christ as our saviour..........Our works will be tested by fire to see if they were honourable...the junk will burn, but the good will be rewarded.....

Well, I'm sorry you feel that way. But there's really nothing you can do about it. So it would be very kind if you could keep your prejudiced opinions to youself, thank you.

What is prejudice is forcing non-Mormons to see symbol of a false church every day, manifested in a Temple. That said, the architecture of Mormon temples is remarkable, what it stands for is equally remarkable; but for the wrong reasons. I do not hate on Mormons exclusively. As I have said, organized religion is a sham; and if the Catholics decided to build a new church in the area, I'd be just as disappointed. Flamboyant displays of such falseness are disgusting.

Asgarnieu,

Such intolerance! Can it be that all people of faith must remain invisible so as not to offend those of no faith?

No. It should be that such flamboyant displays of a more obviously false church should not be erected. I just don't want to see it in my valley. Aren't seven Mormon churches enough? The Methodists have less than three. The Baptists none. The Catholics two. Why so many Mormon churches? Not to mention seminaries (right next to the high school in Safford) and "family history centers." Building a temple is only proving that the Mormons are trying to force themselves on the innocent.

Perhaps there are simply a lot of Mormons in your area. I know that they usually double and triple up on buildings having multiple congregations share them. Seminaries are private enterprizes located convient to those who use them, and all faiths are free to construct their own. Temples, hold a special place in the theology of Mormons and are only constructed where there are sufficent numbers of Mormons to use them and justify the expense.

As to the "obviously false church," there may be more to it, and not so obvious since it is such a rapidly growing and successful church. Perhaps, it is even true and the obviousiness is revealed to those who investigate its teachings and doctrine without prejudice.

Let me guess, you're one of them.

Prove to me that it is a true religion. Prove to me that religion in and of itself is true. If you can prove either to me beyond a shadow of a doubt, I'll retract every "prejudiced" statement I've ever made in my life.

The seminary in Safford is located less than 100 yards from the high school. Obviously, this is an attempt to force themselves upon high schoolers and make their presence known. The other religions represented in the area have no such facilities, as the adjacent lots are most likely owned by LDS church members.

As for the area having a lot of Mormons, you are correct. However, practicing Catholics far outnumber the Mormons in the valley. Therefore, there is absolutely no reason to build more LDS churches in the valley. As a matter of fact, some of them should be bulldozed.

Scientology is a rapidly growing and successful church as well. Wouldn't you say that the Church of Scientology is false? I certainly think so. The reason false churches can attract so many people is simple: people are stupid. Following a religion made up by some guy in Italy or in Salt Lake City and ran from there makes no sense. If one is to practice religion, why not practice it your own way? Why does one set of rules have to apply? I may be wrong, but didn't someone say that Heaven is what you make it? People shouldn't have to try to reach the Heaven some old fart thinks is right.

It seems your hatred of religion has more to do with your own feelings of religious remorse or doubt about your own beliefs, than any deep seated conviction that organized religion is wrong.

Personally, I believe religion as we know it was created by man, not God, so I'm not a believer of organized religion either. However, I feel comfortable enough in my reasoning that I don't need to object to those who feel they need religion in there life. If people gather with others in an effort to become better people and they don't harm others, I don't understand the intolerance on your part, or anybody else's. If the Mormons building a new temple is the only thing you have to complain about, you are a very fortunate person.

Isn't freedom of religion wonderful? If there are more Catholics let them build more churches, let them build a cathedral if they finance it without tax dollars. Let the Scientologist build all the facilities they need too. I don't have to believe or attend, that is the freedom we are blessed with.
Yes, the institute is build convenient to the school. Have you seen anyone being cohorced into attending? That would be a problem: to see teachers or police ordering attendence, but voluntary attendence is fine. Yes, let the J.W.'s, the Jews, the Catholics, anyone build a similar facility close to the school: that is the privilege of being free Americans. Let all build as they feel the need and as they can afford, but don't use tax dollars for it.

Yes, I am LDS. I wasn't raised LDS, but I found my answers with them. You are welcome to worship who, what and how you may so long as you don't force me to, or harm others. I'm not here to convert you, to convince you to my beliefs, but to criticize your desire to rob me and my kind of our liberties.

How do we rob you of your liberties? Because we exsist? Or because, we are visible and disquite your conscience with doubts or questions? If we are as false and wrong as you say we are, then we are harmless fools, and of no concern to you. Unless, you have suffered harm? Perhaps, you should specify just how you have been harmed by the Saints?

At the moment, your irrational hate of the Saints seems as balanced and just as that of an Austrian aggitator of the 1920-30s.

Wherein do the Saints rob you of your liberties by practicing their faith? We don't twist arms and we don't put a gun to anyone's head and say they must believe. We simply say this is our way, what and why we believe it so. If you want to join and share: this is how, and welcome. If you don't agree: go your way and peace be with you.

Prove to me that they are "Saints." How do I know that they aren't just a bunch of self-loving douchebags?

I won't just go away. I'm here to stay. My dispise is well-founded, at least in my eyes; and that's all that really matters.

Saints are what we call ourselves. The same as they called themselves prior to the Ephisians nicknaming us "Chrisians", and before the same kind of derisive nickname "Mormons" was given us in this last dispensation.

Go ahead and hate as you will, just don't infringe on our liberties. Too many of our forefathers sacrificed too much blood for us to surrender them lightly.
