Kentucky Utilities plans to spend $712 million to comply with EPA rules at its 38-year-old plant north of Ghent along the Ohio River.

The Kentucky Public Service Commission will hold a public evidentiary hearing next week on the $2.5 billion environmental compliance plans and associated rate increases proposals by KU and LG&E.The hearing will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday at PSC offices, 211 Sower Blvd., Frankfort.
