The Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy and Park Ridge Health will host a 5K trail race to the summit of Henderson County's iconic Bearwallow Mountain starting at 2 p.m. May 6. The Bearwallow Beast 5K will ascend from the community of Gerton in the Upper Hickory Nut Gorge and finish atop to the scenic summit.
