The offices for Adams County, Decatur, Berne, and Geneva will be closed on Friday due to the Fourth of July holiday on Saturday.

The Adams County Community Foundation has given a $1,500 grant to the Adams Public Library System to help obtain library cards for people who live outside of Decatur and Geneva, the members that have community libraries.

BY ERIC MANN The first three payouts were made on Thursday in Geneva from nearly $100,000 received by the United Way of Adams County from the Lilly Foundation at Indianapolis to cover part of the expenses from damage caused in the area by a severe storm last June 9.
