By Staff Reports The Newton County Sheriff's Department responded to a stabbing Monday night on Gateway Drive approximately 10 miles northwest of Neosho.

Clerks at five businesses with beer and liquor sales were charged with selling intoxicants to minors in a sting operation conducted recently by Newton County sheriff's deputies and members of a local chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

The Platte County prosecutor has found that law enforcement officers from six departments used reasonable and justifiable force when they shot and killed a man in Riverside on March 18.
