Gov. Sam Brownback plans to speak at a Memorial Day service outside the small, eastern Kansas town of Garnett, where he grew up.

It has an ethanol production plant at Garnett in the Eastern Kansas. The company also produces and sells distillers grains, which is obtained as a major co-product of the ethanol production process.

Approximately 76 miles southwest of Kansas City is located Garnett, Kansas the county seat of Anderson County.
