Annual Mother's Day Pow Wow Set For Weekend

The Eighth Annual Mother's Day Pow Wow is this weekend in Sedillo Park and will feature top-name performers, including flute player Andrew Thomas and Wind Spirit Drums of Datil.
According to organizer Donna Monette of the Turtle Mountain Ojibwa tribe, the Pow Wow continues to gain momentum.
The Pow Wow begins at noon on Saturday with Gourd Dancing and continues until midnight. A grand entry is scheduled for 7 p.m. On Sunday, Gourd Dancing begins at 11 a.m. with a Grand Entry at 1 p.m. The event is free and is held at Sedillo Park. Read more

Catron Senior Centers Cater To More Than 1,000 Members

On the corner of Ella and Ester streets in Reserve sits one of the most important buildings in the community. Within the walls of the Catron County Senior Citizen Center hums the lifeline for the village's elderly.
Dedicated staff and volunteers administer vital programs and services essential for the health and well-being of local seniors, who are identified by regulations as minimum age 60.
Nan Skelton is the executive director of the Catron County Commission on Aging. The non-profit commission is responsible for the administration of the senior centers throughout Catron County. Read more
