If it was a good ticket that was given why would u b complaining about them doing there job!

The police dept. should be done away with and the police protection provided by the county.

I think Gallaway is trying to save itself from Oakland..... If all the complainers would like Oakland to take over .... Good on ya ! Fayette County can't afford us ...... If anyone would think the county would take care of Gallaway .... You havent lived here very long and don't know the county budget situation ... I am glad to see that this is on the ballots. When I worked there I noticed that Gallaway was one of the most corrupt cities I have ever known. The promises spoke by the elected officials where just that,,,un-kept promises. Gallaway doesn't have the people with the knowledge on how to run a city. They would be better off taken over by the county and do away with the indiginent people that work there. Please people, if you are able to vote on this referendum, vote to do away with the charter. You will be better off in the long run. This is coming from a person who loved working in Gallaway, but you couldn't make me move there.

Dumb question: Why would Gallaway need to protect itself from Oakland? And where did you ever come up with the idea that Oakland can take over Gallaway?
I also note you mention the Fayette County budget, and say they can't afford us. I'm sure its only a coincidence, but those are the EXACT words Tammie Hightower said not too long ago. You are wrong on all counts.
The law has changed regarding annexation. Its not just a matter of Oakland says were going to annex you and that is that. Before there can be an annexation there has to be a referendum placed on the ballot, and the citizens affected have to be given a chance to vote on it. There is also a little matter of logistics. Oakland can't reach across Hickory Withe and drag in Gallaway. That is NEVER going to happen.
Gallaway City Hall, and the Kangaroo Court, were built with FREE DONATIONS from local businesses and local citizens. The FREE LABOR to build them both was given by people who sweated in the hot sun to "help Gallaway".
So Gallaway City Government works out of a building that was built for FREE, and runs you into their Kangaroo Court that was built for FREE, and yet even now, you folks are still begging for MORE FREE HANDOUTS.
What became of all the State Street Aid from 1966-2012? What became of all the revenue from the 17,000+ traffic tickets that were handed out between 2004-2008. It all went into the general fund, and it was all spent paying salaries.
The ONLY people who have benefited from all those handouts you people keep begging for are the people at City Hall.
City Hall pays no property tax because they rent from Ray Moody. Ray Moody pays NO TAXES because the City has helped him FRAUD the property assessment. That way, the City gets lower rent, and Ray Moody doesn't have to pay taxes.
Your Mayor wanted to bulldoze the Housing Authority. I say pay back the $20,000.00 the City embezzled first. Then walk out the front door of City Hall, and if you want something to bulldoze, start on those eyesores that are right under your nose. That isn't going to happen because you don't want to piss your landlord off.
You want someone to guarantee you that the County can do a better job? How can ANYONE possibly do worse?
Instead of the State Street Aid going into the general fund, maybe we can get some streets fixed. You folks sure haven't done it. What about all that revenue those traffic cops bring in? Do you actually call that police protection? I call it a JOKE.
In the event you hadn't noticed, we've already been taken over by Oakland. The majority of our City Employees are from Oakland.
