Hundreds expected to attend Civil War battle simulation
Published: Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 3:30 a.m. Last Modified: Friday, March 11, 2011 at 10:25 p.m. The sound of rifle fire and the smoky plumes of gunpowder will fill the air today and Sunday across fields in Gainesville, mirroring the scene in the 1860s when Confederate troops fought to hold back Union forces.
