The 2010 election scene unfurled Wednesday, November 4, 2009. This was the first day for candidates to file for the May 2010 primary election in Kentucky, and several incumbents and two newcomers have already filed the necessary paperwork to run for office. The primary election will be held May 18 and the general election is November 2. The deadline for filing for office in the primary election is January 26, 2010. We will regularly update this information

Lee Ann Harrison Stafford

Fulton County Sheriff- Robert “Bobby” Hopper (I)

Fulton County Jailer- Ricky Parnell (I)

Fulton County Coroner- Matt Moss (I)

Fulton County PVA- Pete Morgan (I)

District 2 Magistrate- George A. Jones (I)
James A. Moss

District 4 Magistrate- Bro. Henry L. Callison (I)

Constable District 2- Douglas Bradley (I)

General qualifications of offices are:

U.S. Senate: 30 years old, U.S. citizen nine years.

U.S. House: 25 years old, U. S. citizen seven years.

State Senate: 30 years old, Kentucky resident six years, district resident one year.

State House: 24 years old, Kentucky resident two years, district resident one year.

Judge-executive, sheriff, jailer, coroner: 24 years old, Kentucky resident two years and county resident one year.

Magistrate, commissioner, constable: 24 years old, Kentucky resident two years and district resident one year.

County clerk: 21 years old, Kentucky resident two years and county resident one year.

District judge: resident of state and district two years, licensed attorney two years.

County attorney: 24 years old, Kentucky resident two years, district resident one year, licensed lawyer for two years.

Property Valuation Administrator: 24 years old, Kentucky resident two years, county resident one year, pass a certification test given by the state Revenue Cabinet

I don't know but i'm willing to give him a shot, can't be any worse than we have now. Something to think about.

Keep ricky parnell jailer

For jailer it better be someone with a business head because they have to be able to manage and maintain a huge budget to keep the jail in the black, its around four to six million dollars. The wrong person could put the county in the poor house like the jail use to be where they was always going to the court meetings wanting money just to feed the inmates.

business head- i will agree with you there but they also need to pay their water and gas bills before they bankrupt the city. with that debt the city can hire someone full-time just to mow the grave yard. keep your inmates, we'd rather see the money.

I can almost assure the voters one thing, if for some dumb reason Bubba Robets was elected, the department of corrections would be there his first day to load up all of their prisoners and Bubba would be sitting there with a 400 bed jail and 20 inmates and a lot of debt. No way theyd trust their inmates to an uneducated unqualifed person like Bubba.

I would be glad to have Bubba than Ricky,Bubba can use the money that Ricky wastes and make it just fine.

I have been in and out of the office with Pete Morgan working and it seems him and his employees don’t have the first clue about what they are doing. I voted for Joe Forrest to began with and I would defiantly do it again. I know Carla on a personal level and I have done business with her for over 20 years, she is very reliable, honest, and has lots of other qualities that “good secretaries” should have. Since she has “retired” that office has turned upside down, you go in to do business and the other people working for him are very rude and very un professional like. There is a story behind while Carla isn’t employed there anymore and if you would like to know why don’t you ask her. Don’t ask Pete because he will lie his way through it like he does everything else, for you people that don’t know him very well.
For you to point fingers on who you think this may be, you are way off. Carla and her daughter both have been out of town on a family matter off and on for the last 3 or 4 weeks.

What experience does Ricky have? Oh he's good at robbing this city dry, he has experience in that. Do us all a favor and go ask how much back water and gas the jail owes.......... ALOT.......... GO ASK, you'll see with your own two eye's.
