Friendsville man sentenced in killing, burning of corpse
Former Sevier County Clerk Joe Keener entered a guilty plea Wednesday morning in Sevier County Circuit Court to charges of theft and official misconduct.

Murder suspect takes plea: Friendsville man stabbed neighbor, burned body
Rather than face a jury trial with a minimal chance of being acquitted, a Friendsville man charged with stabbing and burning a man to death in 2008 made a plea bargain in Blount County Circuit Court Tuesday morning.
Two hurt in Clenenden Road accident
According to a Blount County Sheriff's Office report, the crash occurred at about 11:29 a.m. A 1993 Ford Taurus driven by Ivy L. Shelton, 46, of Humphrey Way in Friendsville, was traveling west on Clendenen Road.
